Chance me - UCSB, UCD, UCLA

Also, just know that applying and getting into an easy major that you don’t actually want could backfire since you will have to go through an appeals process to switch majors once you get there.

In Fall 2010:
230 students applied for global studies, and 40 were admitted. 17.39%
48 students applied for middle east/ north african studies and 16 were admitted. 33.33%

^that’s for hs applicants though, but i think inflated percentages are comparable to transfer students.

Also, why not just complete the 60 credits?? You want to transfer don’t you? Unless you get near a 3.0 or lower, then you have a good shot at getting into the better UC schools.>>>>

*Why is UCSB a maybe while UCD is most likely? I thought UCD was way more competitive than UCSB?

*I’m not gonna lie - my main goal is to get into UCSB. I’m not too picky on the major - something political, so political science, global studies, middle east studies, etc. I have an interest in the middle east and am in the process learning languages so I figure that is a reasonable way to go. But in the end I’ll go with whatever is the most likely to get me into the school. So if you can link me to a site that shows the majors with the highest acceptance rate that would be killer.

*What source do you have for these acceptance cites? I’ll have 60 credits by Spring, but I only have about 28 total when I apply including AP units. UCSB is the only school I really want to go to, I’d honestly be miserable at UCD but and I dislike LA very much but calstate isn’t an option (no speech) and private is too expensive.

*I don’t know how to quote posts formally, this cite isn’t in BBcode.
