Florida is not an underrepresented state in NE BS. Choate has 642 boarding students from 38 states, SPS has 548 from 40 states. Choate has 9 Floridians (I don’t know that for a fact, but trusting your statement), SPS has 10 Floridians. Not a meaningful difference. Florida would still fall in the top half of 38-40 states.
That doesn’t mean you would not be admitted. We don’t know that. I am just pointing out that the whole “hook” thing is way overblown on CC. Even a student from a truly underrepresented state won’t get an admission if the committee is not convinced that he or she will thrive (rather than just survive) academically at that school.
