Chance me? URM from out of state.

CLA lets in a relatively larger number of transfers compared to the other colleges of the UMN so that will help your application. You’ll need to explain the withdrawals and it wouldn’t hurt to touch on the underlying health struggles (you should talk to your CC advisor and your health provider about the prudence of doing so first just because there is a debate about whether to disclose mental health issues, given schools’ concerns about violence, etc. To my mind, there is a huge difference between ADHD/anxiety/depression and, say, schizophrenia or other psychoses. Still, I’m not a college advisor or doctor so take my views with a grain of salt and get feedback from the professionals on this matter). Most of all, get a teacher or counselor recommendation backing up your statement that things have really turned around academically for you and that you are well prepared to face the rigors of the major now.

Finally, have a set of backups in mind just in case you are waitlisted. Your local state U, for instance, should be able to give you a decent experience in comp sci. That’s a pretty rigorous choice of major, regardless of where you end up.

Good luck to you!
