Are you considering any LACs ?
As a, presumably, non-recruited athlete applying for D-I University of Virginia, you may garner significant attention due to your athletic accomplishments & talent at several D-3 LACs.
Varsity baseball pitcher & captain of varsity cross-country team should make you a very attractive candidate for the most selective LACs even without D-I athletic times or qualifications.
I am not trying to discourage you from applying to UVA or to any other elite university, but I am suggesting that your status & accomplishments should mean a lot to a small community such as those found at LACs.
Williams College in Massachusetts and Middlebury College in Vermont are both outstanding schools academically, and both are sited in beautiful locations, and both offer excellent athletics programs.
