Thank you everyone for replying to my post. Didn’t mean to cause any disputes You are all very helpful. As I said I believe in an earlier post I figured this school would probably be a reach for me. I have yet to visit (I also plan on visiting BU) and therefore I’m not even 100% sure if I want to apply! My whole rationale with checking out NEU and BU is that I am aiming to hopefully go to school in a city. I’m from the greater Philadelphia area and therefore plan on applying to a couple of schools in Philly and I have family in California not far from the bay area, so I am also looking into a couple of schools in San Francisco (I have been there and love the city). SURPRISINGLY I have never even been to Boston before-so you all may think I’m a little crazy for just coming out and being like “Hmm, I wonder if NEU is a good school for me?” but like I said, the goal is to be in the city. I have had plans to go up to Boston in the near future regardless of college visits, but I figured I would check them out and get a feel for the city/campuses. I’m not a huge fan of NYC or D.C, but I have looked into a couple of schools in Baltimore and I may also apply to American University in D.C. (probably a reach). @Totoro66 thank you for your very blunt & honest insight-I do appreciate that, and my junior year grades being so low will definitely put me at a major disadvantage. Believe me, a day does not go by that I do not kick myself for my junior year grades but because I was in bad health for 5 months with a huge workload, all I can do is tell myself that this year will be different and pray that nothing out of my control will happen to get in between me and better grades. @MrInformed, thank you also–if when I go up to Boston I really love NEU, I will definitely do everything I can to show genuine interest if I have it! That is a very good point. @TomSrOfBoston I definitely have to agree with Totoro66 based on that history-extraordinary circumstances in the cases of those students he was talking about. Thank you for posting. @VMadden thank you also, and good luck if you end up transferring! All in all, I know that GPA and SAT score are not EVERYTHING when it comes to getting into college, but I know they are extremely important…So we’ll see where all this goes. Thank you all :)
