Chance me!!!!!!!!!!!

I for one think your chances are extremely slim, and its a possibility that you might be at risk for definitely not getting in.

what is your race? That is what is really important because they really want diversity.

White!!!

well not much diversity there lol.

Well idk, I feel like “white female” is at least remotely diverse. I visited UofM engineering a few days ago and looked in on one of the classes, and it was literally all Asians except for one white person (granted, it was a CS class).

I agree. I visited an eng. class at brown and they were literally all asian. Its like these schools only care about diversity in terms of the whole campus and not individual majors like engineering. If they really cared about diversity in the math fields they wouldn’t admit all these asians right?

Regardless being white in engineering should count for something.

Ya I hope so. I guess it’d be nice to go to Pton, but the main reason I’m applying to it and other schools in its tier is so if I get into at least one I can get better FA at my state school.

^^^
Oh yes, white females are definitely underrepresented at colleges.

I love the collective grouping of Asians here.

^ in engineering: oh yes, they are

In engineering literally any non-asian is underrepresented.

Hey do you guys know if Pton still excludes freshman grades?

Hey,

I know some people are hammering you and telling you that you don’t have that great of a chance. But realize this: these people are not God, they can only gauge you and supply you with advice on what you’ve given them. So there’s no need for the bickering back and forth. They are, quite frankly, just being realistic.

Now as for chancing you, YOU must realize that EVERYONE or at least most of the people who apply to princeton have outstanding stats. Credentials that will blow us out of the water. You have a decent shot. All you need to do is shine through your essay and application. You’re ACT score is great, you’re EC’s are above average and your GPA is alright for a school like Princeton.

You need to find something that makes you shine, just like everyone has been saying. I posted a chance me thread to and I didn’t get: OH, man you have an AWESOME Chance. No I got, “You have a good shot, but you need something extraordinary”. So, I found something that helped with an edge: research. You need to do the same. Get published, teach in france, find a cure. Do something that doesn’t make you sound likea typical applicant, because believe me, THOUSANDS of students have your stats and better. So don’t get a big head because you’re the best at your school.

also where’s your rank?

My school doesn’t rank!!!

I don’t see how research makes you so unique. I’ve seen tons of people do it, and I had the opportunity to do some at UofM but I gave it up because I’d rather spend my summer doing my work in Detroit.

When all is said and done, you do not have a hook. No legacy, athletic recruitment, URM, or development case. You will have a less than 10% chance, like all the rest of the unhooked applicants.

Assuming your SAT IIs are as high as your 35 ACT, your stats will get you to the maybe pile–that is a definite great first step.

How you differentiate yourself from other privileged students from good high schools will be a determining factor. If a sense of entitlement comes through your essays as it does in these posts, you may find adcoms passing over your application.
