I have reason to believe that Emory pretty much takes everyone 1200 M/V and up very seriously for admission and then consider other things. I was just making the point that the stats are not what would make OP particularly competitive, it would be other things. I really don’t consider someone’s stats an advantage unless they are above the top quartile mark of the previous year’s admits. For all others it is more like : “Ok, what else do you have?”. The only thing I am very iffy on is the GPA or maybe GPA-classrank correspondence. Again, Emory appears to like students from “harder” schools GPA wise and seems to be more punitive toward those with a lower than IQR GPA than the SAT especially in cases where the rigor of curriculum was not anything that stands out. They have a very good shot if they are super solid in other areas. I am guessing they just gave us a little taste of what they did EC wise.
