Schools meet need as they calculate it, and each school calculates it differently. Run the NPCs…if they aren’t affordable DO NOT APPLY ED. There is no ‘negotiation’ unless there are special circumstances, such as a job loss. Note that NPCs may not be accurate if your parents are divorced, own a business and/or own real estate beyond a primary home…are any of those the case for your situation?
