Veteran Pitt mom here and Pittsburgher. No one calls the school “UPitt” here in Pittsburgh. It’s just PITT or the University of Pittsburgh 
Pitt business accepts a couple hundred students a year.
I believe the Biz school page says they require test scores and high level math.
I would not consider it a safety but would apply if you are truly interested in living in Pittsburgh and it’s in your budget. Your state schools would most likely offer the same degree for cheaper. Pitt does consider demonstrated interest so a campus visit is advised.
