Chances at CIT

CMU is awesome, however they made a point in saying that they want well rounded people than perfect scores… what I mean is that once you get pass a certain level of grades they will say, “OK this kid is good,” then they will start looking at all the other stuff you do… Alot of people here seem to play a musical instrument even if they are engineering majors…

I got rejected from MIT too, and before I came to CMU I couldn’t see myself anywhere but there, but now I can’t see myself anywhere but CMU. There is a great variety of people here, we’re all nerds though… I haven’t met anyone that doesn’t just have a passion for something educational, and you definately have that going on…

Though anywhere you get in just remember to make the best of it…

Good Luck,

CMU Freshman , ECE or MechE???

“we’re all nerds though… I haven’t met anyone that doesn’t just have a passion for something educational”

I wouldn’t say that qualifies us as nerds though  I would say we are just educationally and academically motivated though we do looove to have fun :)

PS: Same here. I really love Pittsburgh and the job opps as well as environment/atmosphere that Carnegie Mellon University provides. I am soo glad I turned down Columbia for this school now. If I had to make the same choice again and I did not get any money from Carnegie Mellon, I would still choose it (even without a double major in Comp Sci)

thanx guys, i just got my acceptance.
