How about an international needing aid applying ED? What are the chances?

And also what is the general rate of admission for internationals needing aid?

I asked on another thread but no one answered!

How about an international needing aid applying ED? What are the chances?

And also what is the general rate of admission for internationals needing aid?

I asked on another thread but no one answered!

no one knows. just apply and see.

Well lets just stick to Dartmouth discussion shall we? :)

it is about dart…

Oops I didnt mean to post that…

No matter what I am applying ED :)

jhl where are you applying?

I’m thinking of Williams or Dart for my ED… But I need lots of aid and aint the best candidate (much less impressive than yours…) so the needs blind policy could be the deciding factor… but I love engineering too…

have you considered other Engg. Colleges too? like Cornell, Stanford etc?

Well Cornell doesnt give much aid tho their admission process is needs blind to everyone… they won meet the aid of many internationals… Stanford I don stand a chance… jus don think im good enough… (as i said on the other thread)… I dont mean that i’ll get admitted to Dartmouth… but my gut feeling says Dart/Will hehe

My best chance (tho not great) is to go to a LAC then grad engineering school?

well as others have said find that college that fits you! WPI gives decent amount of aid and it is a great Engg. college!

Dartmouth fits me. I mean everything about Dart appeals to me that is why I am applying ED. What do you like about Dart? :)

Dartmouth is the ultimate balance between a LAC and a research university… I want research opportunities… at LAC I’ll get a lot but they won be as cutting edge… at dart i can get those plus the fact that the professor will remember my name… and also graduate courses is always a possibility theree

I do feel like you have a great chance of getting in. Keep up the good work! I hope I could meet you in Dartmouth!

Thank you :)

Your chances are great. You might want to shoot even higher than Dartmouth.

There are only a couple schools in the world that are really need-blind for all applicants including internationals - MIT, Yale, Harvard, Princeton and maybe one or two others.

The other universities give preference to rich kids.

Well I will be applying ED to Dartmouth and If I dont get in then I will try my luck at other colleges ;)

Since there are only spaces for 5-6 ECs and Awards on the App. should I attach a sheet with my other awards and ECs?

yes.

i attached a three-page chart with ECs, Community Service, and Awards.

i had descriptions and everything. i sent in that same chart for numerous scholarships/colleges. needless to say… it worked.

thank you, michelle hernandez!

whoot!

3 PAGES?!!! WOAH!

Anyways, Thanks for the info mate :)
