chances for a mediocre applicant

Great, I think. He said that if I can talk intelligently about the books we discussed (the latter half of the interview was almost entirely occupied by our back-and-forth exegeses of postmodern and modern lit.), then he would have no qualms with my admittance to NCF. He told me that my GPA would NOT by any means preclude my acceptance. He also said that he’s going to present my file to “The Committee” this Friday and would tell me their response/decision. Commence anxiety. I really hope they like my essays and recs.
Also, I was surprised to find that he was far more relaxed, genuine, and earnest than any other admissions officer I’ve spoken with. I’m very impressed. If I get in, I’m definitely going.
