I’ve never posted on here before but I saw that you can post your stats and people will tell you your chances. So here goes:
I applied Early Decision II to George Washington University and it is definitely my first choice! I applied to the Elliott School of International Affairs as an International Relations major.
In my opinion, my essays were pretty convincing (argumetation IS my strong suit haha) and I REALLY expressed how much I wanted to go there.

GPA: My school does it on a 12 point unweighted/15 point weighted, but it translates to a 4.3 weighted GPA

Class Rank: I go to a REALLY competitive public school, but I’m in the top 10% (Rank: 73 out of a class of 765)

ACT: I took it once and got a 31

SAT: 2140 (750 R, 670 M, 720 W)

ECs & Community Service: Over 180 hours of mentoring children at my old elementary school, member of student council for 2 years and many hours of community service from that, President of Spanish National Honor Society, member of National Honor Society, member of Presidents Council, member of Friends of Rachel club- 2 years, Homecoming Committee for two years, member of Spanish club- 2 years, member of Psychology club-1 year, choir member- 2 years, volunteer at Red Cross Blood Drive for two years, helped raise money for Pasta for Patients campaign (leukemia) [wow, I sound like a pompous a** haha]

Awards/Honors: National Merit Commended Scholar, National Honor Society, Spanish NHS, Science NHS (idk if these count as awards or ECs), AP Scholar

Hooks: white, middle/upper-middle class female
The only “hook” I can think of is that I am a first-generation college student and my mom is a single mother

I am STRESSING out because I got denied from Northwestern early decision (sigh) and I REALLY want to go to GW. These last two or so weeks are going to drive me crazy.

Can someone please tell me if I have a good chance of if I should set my sights elsewhere!?!? Thanks so much in advance :)
