Chances for UCI?

They will look at your team elective GPA, so if you are sitting out at 2.4 then it is very unlikely that you would be able to get into UC Irvine this fall. They do look at upward trends, so your grades at your current school obviously help you a lot, but in my opinion I just think your overall is just too low.

You can TAG if you choose to, but they won’t accept your TAG if your GPA is not a 3.4 overall.

Whether or not your classes from your first college transfer is just one of those things that only Irvine can answer. You can try to do a Google search and see if there’s any articulation agreements between the two schools. Sometimes there are and you can find them by doing a little digging.

Classes that you have retaken are a little tricky, because they are not going to be direct equivalents. so for example if at your first school you took English composition and then you took English composition at your second school more than likely both grades will be factored into your GPA, but you would only receive unit/ subject credit for one of the courses.

I’m really not trying to be overly negative, but I think you really are backed into a corner at this point. It seems it’ll be a bit of an uphill battle for you to transfer to a UC. You really need to take more courses to improve your GPA enough, but by taking too many classes you make yourself ineligible. Kind of a Catch-22 unfortunately.
