Chances for US student?

Don’t send in the second set of scores. You need at least 26 in all the subscores.

Make sure to indicate that you are a Canadian citizen on your applications. There are quotas for international students and the competition is several times as difficult.

The schools will look most closely at your English and Calculus grades. They should be equally strong.

Your grades are a little borderline for U of T and Waterloo (I’m not as familiar with UBC and Univ of Alberta, but Alberta should be the easiest to get in). The competition for engineering is getting more and more fierce every year.

U of T does a video interview for its engineering students.

Waterloo does consider your extracurriculars - they will send you an Additional Information Form which is very important. You should read Bill Anderson’s blog, especially the chances for 2017 post. https://profbillanderson.■■■■■■■■■■■■■ To improve your chances at Waterloo, see if you can take the Euclid math test. http://www.cemc.uwaterloo.ca/contests/euclid.html

The sooner you send in your applications and the school supplements (video, AIF etc), the more likely you are to get an earlier decision. Universities in Canada do not specify decision dates. However, it is possible to get decisions by Christmas from some schools.

Waterloo will likely not give you a decision until May (after the US colleges require an answer. It’s possible that the other Canadian universities might not give you a decision until then, but you will probably hear from them before May 1.

Have you ever lived in Canada? If so, the last province you lived in will provide you with financial aid.
