Chances for USC with 3.65 UW GPA? (Also good scholarships?)

My son was recently accepted with grades and test scores similar to yours. When we attended the information session for admits, one of the counselors told the group that we were accepted because of our essays. It’s a given that outstanding grades and high test scores come with the territory. Afterward, I asked him what he meant since I assumed most students would take the time to write well thought out, meaningful essays. He told me that was not always the case. USC takes a holistic approach to the admission process. So when they say they want to get to know you, they really mean it. My suggestion would be to show yourself with a well written, honest essay. Good luck!
