Chances from Those who Know the College Process the Best

If i get that article in review or published, write amazing essays, average a 97 for next term (most important term for Princeton. this info was obtained from actual princeton adcom member), start job at barnes and nobles, and do that program at columbia med would it still be a super reach.

Barnes and Noble? Not sure about that one.

Yes it would still be a super reach because, even with that record, there are still a number of BS students with better records. They will be ahead of you in the selection process unless lightning strikes and someone in Pton adcom falls in love with your application. A well-written rec will help them fall in love with your app. Intel winner might put you over the edge into regular ‘reach’ instead of super duper reach. Published research will help them fall in love with your app–and what else? Oh yeah–ESSAYS. Hint hint.

FWIW, Princeton and the Ivies are reaches for everyone. You are a great student and it is only the incredible competition at BS that makes Pton a super reach for you.

Okay–end of Pton conversation. How bout those essays?

Theyre coming along. Ill pm you the one about my job in a while.

Also I’m only 2 points below the average person accepted into Princeton from our school. If I avergaed a 97 I would have about a 93 which is good conisdering that one term hurt me a lot, my socioeconomic status and I though good and special essays were well worth a few gpa points.

Pm marite, xiggi, jmmom and Alumother. I’m not the editor in the bunch.

Good luck!

If I submit a research article which will hopefully be published where does that article go to be reviewed? WHere will the supervising scientist rec go to?

I’m completely new to this site - but I need some help. Son is going into senior year with mediocre SAT grades - 420 on critical reading - 550 on math - and has not been able to find a college that he’s interested in - we’ve visited 4 with 3 more visits scheduled. He’s interested in physical therapy/chiropractor. would love to hear your SAT prep - I read Xiggi is the one to go to for a method for improving his score.

a2ndcc,
You need to start a new thread. You can do so by going back to the Parents Forum and clicking on the “new thread” topic that’s at the top left. Use a title that will attract viewers like “Advice needed for low-scoring son who wants to be a physical therapist or chiropractor”.

Lols I thought people were actually replying to my site.

a2ndcc Where do you live?

If you are looking for some of those schools in the east coast I would suggest Stonybrook on Long Island, StJohns in NYC, and University of sciences in philly. UC davis might also be good for a west coast college.

Does Qb college match allow students to get into Princeton or Yale in december because P doesnt have early decision. I was looking at my school stats and found this

Princeton stats (REGULAR)
Average GPA accepted-95.11
sat (M+v) 1439
sat (M+V+W) 2192
act 33

Early
GPA-92.97
Sat(m+v)-1397
sat(m+v+w)-2067
act-29

Can someone please help me right now? The QB app is due tomm.

CH78, what kind of help do you need? What is due tomorrow?

The application should be due on September 30th.

Our counselor wants us to finish it by tommorow. I need someone to go over my app basically.

HELP anyone please?

CH78, I am not sure what is taking place at your school, but your counselor has nothing to do with the FINAL application for Questbridge, except for uploading or faxing her letter of recommendations, a transcript, and eventually SAT/ACT scores. YOUR application is online and you have until September 30th to make changes to it. That is WHY it is an online application, and represents a process YOU control.

Since your GC seems to be so hands-on, could she not review the application with you and check if all the pesky little boxes are marked correctly. That would be a great help and right down his or her alley. It would also be a great help if they fax or upload the documents before the deadlines. This is what the school does, "Ask your high school to submit an official copy of your school transcript and test scores via fax to QuestBridge using the correct fax coversheet provided on your My Locker page."

So, what do you have left? A bunch of the small one line questions and a few essays? I think several people would be happy to help you with minor editing and suggestions. I think you have my email.

If you labored under the impression your application was due tomorrow, you are way ahead of the curve on this one. Relax, keep your GC happy, and use your time until 9-30 judiciously. Rushing is not a smart move here.

PS

xiggi…SAT and QB guru.

I pm’ed u xiggi.

I pm’ed u again.
