doctor- I think at this point, the OP is definitely more annoyed with your extreme post hijack and overreaction than he/she could ever possibly have been by nikeboy’s response. Congrats.

^Thank you for your insightful response; I was actually considering this possibility myself, and was going to suggest moving this conversation to a PM if it got any lengthier. However, as I indicated in my previous post, this is not only for the benefit of the OP, but for the community as a whole.

Besides, and I’m sure nikeboy would commend me for saying this, the OP has most likely already come to the conclusion that he or she would have to make a new thread which provides more background information in order gain helpful responses. So in reality, I was just hijacking a pointless thread, which only consisted of three serious posts, one of which was mine. Another was your rephrasing of mjmay’s post. I believe mjmay said something along the lines of take the ACT again, and you said something like study hard for the ACT by taking lots of practice tests. :)

Wow… you’re first post on this page was 954 words. That is officially the longest post I have seen on CC. I mean irrespective of what you thought of my post, how on earth did you get the time to write all of that? Enjoy your summer man, and chill out a little

doctor you say you are “the voice of those who do not approve of these jokes” but this is an internet forum and if people are bothered they should say so. anyone can post here so you don’t have to champion around for “those” who were so offended they didn’t even post.

CC is sooooo tame. Sooooo PC. I’ve been banned/suspended for saying hardly anything…

But, Doctor, you are really overreacting. Do you even go to Michigan yet? You are acting like this forum is hallowed ground.

I also don’t think you are as much as a “voice for the people” you think you are.

Finally. Were you homeschooled? Or did you go to a private HS? Cuz that would explain a lot

nikeboy3004-You cannot have seen much of CC then. Try reading Silverturtle’s SAT thread. To be honest, I surprised myself with that post-I guess I just got on a roll. I usually don’t have that kind of time, which you can probably see by looking at the mere 83 posts I’ve made on this site in the year I’ve been a member. Regrettable, I know. I wish my statistics mirrored the 200 or so you make in a year on average. Thank you for your warm words; I hope you enjoy your summer as well nikeboy.

mjmay7- First I want to thank you for your post. I really appreciate your taking the time to read the posts that I’ve written for what they are: words that I believe some others might want to say. In the many posts I’ve made on this thread, not one person acknowledged the multiple times I have cried out that these posts are not how I feel, and even now I receive comments like “chill out a little” or “were you home schooled,” and confess myself irritated because nobody has actually read my posts. But I guess I can’t blame them for wanting to skim through such lengthy posts as I would do the same. I must say I am flattered that you would label me a “champion of the people,” because I am definitely not whatever that is. I see nothing wrong in speaking up for others, and am now glad I did, considering the reactions my posts have received. By the way, coining terms like “champion on the people” is a sure sign that you have watched too many movies . . . I think I read that some where. (That was a joke in bad taste-haHA).

Purpleduckman- I don’t know why you would post the fact that you were banned or suspended on here, unless you are accusing me of reporting you. So let me clarify that I didn’t. But perhaps you owe me a thanks for this thread because my posts may have saved you from getting banned again and proved the existence of those I had the sense to predict might be offended by your posts. And more so than my overreacting, you are over exaggerating everything I say. I never once referred to this forum as hallowed ground, but I see why you would considering you got banned for “saying hardly anything.” Also, I see that you conveniently ignore the points in my post that question you, and in turn ask me irrelevant and judgmental questions. I was neither homeschooled nor did I go to a private school- if this is some lame attempt at trying to convince others that you are more socially adept that me, go right ahead, but I won’t be participating, as this thread is becoming rambunctious and I don’t feel a necessity to prove something like this on a forum to a crowd of strangers. However, I would like to leave you with some advice: Do not be so hasty to label people based on their posts. I gathered this was a formal forum from numerous others posters, which is the sole reason I reacted the way I did or write that way I do.

My posy about getting banned/suspended goes to the fact that the mods on these forums (especially the college life forum) are super strict (but Alexandre is cool).

I’m not sure why I owe you a thanks though. Nothing you have posted is really going to change the way I post on these forums in anyway.

I said hallowed ground because you called this Michigan forum “prestigious”. Its an internet forum dude…

I didn’t even realize you made points, or were trying to make points. You just kinda started overreacting about the smallest thing and then blowing it way out if proportion.

Also, tech comm 101, if you are gonna make point, shorten your posts. This isn’t english class. I’m not grading you by the amount if pages you type.

I asked if you went to a private school because you are reacting just like the stereotypical private school kid would, or something like it.

Why would I try to prove I am more socially awkward adept than some one ever, let alone some random kid on the internet.

Bottom line you overreacted. You can say want you want but a novel response to someone making a joke was waaaaay over doing it.

Your post is completely redundant and pointless; you really should get rid of your tendency to conveniently avoid what the other person says, and continue to believe in your own wronged ways, yet remain critically stubborn of others. It does not further discussion. The fact that you continue to assert I have overreacted even after I have given reason for my actions is ridiculous; you persistently simplify things without being thoughtful of what I have said. Judging by your responses thus far, I am not surprised that you were not able to identify any “points” to my posts. And I’m afraid I cannot participate in this discussion when I keep having to repeat myself, because you are unable to respond appropriately to what I have written. If there was a misinterpretation anywhere in my reasoning, I will gladly apologize, just as I had done for jumping the gun on MichiganStick, who was only trying to be helpful.

As you seem convinced that your way is the right way, feel free to PM me (like I said, this thread is getting out of hand) as a sustained argument on a public thread is not acceptable in any forum. However, if you do want to PM me, please only do so in order to make an effort to prove YOUR point. As I have not had any assurance that you intend do that, answer these questions in your first PM to give me confidence that I am not wasting my time when preaching to you.

1) I understood why you implied I consider this forum hallowed ground, and yes as I am sure others would agree, college confidential is prestigious. In fact, I suspect a good number of us joined this site based on a friend, family member, or advisor recommending it to us. When I said you should perhaps consider this site hallowed ground, I was hinting at your getting banned for "barely any reason; " i.e not doing anything wrong- get it?
2) I briefly answered why I write like this in my previous post, so for you to even mention something about “grading [me] by the amount of pages * type” is just wrong. I’m having a hard time trying to figure out what you were thinking when you wrote that useless comment: did I ever accidentally imply that I write the way I do for your sake? Or because I feel it may grant me superiority in an argument (i take it that was what you wanted to say)?
3) “I asked if you went to a private school because you are reacting just like the stereotypical private school kid would, or something like it.” A two year old kid could have figured that out. When I asked you WHY you asked that question, I was hoping you could address what you stood to gain by asking such a useless question; I was not expecting you to state the obvious. So tell me, had I answered yes, how does that assist you in your reasoning or whatever you are intending by continuing this discussion? As for the “socially adept” part of my post, I predicted that you would not answer my question the first time, so I took the liberty of assuming your answer to this question to be along the lines of “I just wanted to shine some light (for others sake) that your reaction can be attributed to your schooling.”

Question 1 is not really much of anything[ I just wanted to see if you got my POINT. (This was a joke, get it?)

^while i do watch a lot of movies i don’t think i’ve ever heard that expression. I just said it because it seems like you are on a “crusade”(if you will) against comments that MAY offend some people…with no people actually saying that they were offended. there is no reason for you to answer for those who can’t, because people CAN speak out on an internet forum. your posts are not needed unless you feel offended

…ugh…

if u get ur math ACT score up, then u should be solid, math is the easiest to improve too IMO
