It’s possible. Engineering is a lot more competitive than getting into A&M. Most of the admits are done as freshmen, and it’s virtually impossible to get in from the outside without a near 4.0 college GPA. UT and A&M are the only schools with such admissions policies. Schools like UT-Dallas, U of H, and Texas State are much more fair to their students.
