Your SAT scores seem to be right in there. Don’t know what your UC GPAs are (look that up to calculate). If you took just a handful of AP classes and your school offers a lot, you may not be viewed as taking a very rigorous curriculum. Remember, you are competing with people who take 10, 12 AP classes (not all schools offer that many - you will only be compared against what your particular school offers). I don’t think the sports matter much unless you got to a state level in one of them. I’m not knocking you - any kid or parent should be very happy with your resume. It’s just that there are a lot of kids applying to Cal with ridiculously high stats.
Make sure your essays are great and your LOR’s (if asked to provide them) are strong. Cross your fingers, but don’t pin all of your hopes on one school.
Being in-state with excellent GPA and excellent SAT to me implies that it is definitely worth applying. Your programming experience makes me think that you are probably thinking of a STEM field and possibly CS, in which case 790 on the math SAT is going to help.
“but don’t pin all of your hopes on one school.”
Right. Apply to Cal, but definitely have a backup plan also. Good luck!
I’d say your chances are pretty good. Write polished, compelling essays. Good Luck!
But your intended major can matter. Expect admission to be more difficult if you apply to a major in the College of Engineering or College of Chemistry at UCB.
