ok fabulous. Thank you. @MYOS1634
Youâre very welcome !
If push comes to shove, one college semester might be considered equivalent to 2 hs years but this would really depend on the College and how many units (a level can be 3, 4, or 5 units/hours a week) .
My D community college semester long class was equivalent to one year of a high school class if that helps. Summer classes are usually divided into 2 semesters so doing 2 classes over the summer would be the same as 2 years of high school at our local CC.
In many school districts or states, foreign language is required for high school graduation. It not only hurts your chance at Ivies if without any foreign language, it hurts the chance for most schools too.
Donât go for the minimum here, assuming one cc class can make up for missing two-three years in high school. The subject has been some highly competitive colleges. Most of us here have got to know that one semester in college (or cc or summer) doesnât give the level of exposure that a couple of years does.
When an adcom looks at the transcript, donât assume he/she will look at it like a registrar. They want to see the effort over some time period. CC has a few topics where folks like to talk of shortcuts- thatâs so iffy. Especially when speaking of Stanford or Penn level.
