Chances of Transferring

<p>@Demosthenes49‌ (Disclaimer: 0L) I rarely look at the transfer section, but here’s what I found in the sticky re: transfer students and OCIs: </p>

How do transfers fare at OCI?</p>

<p>So far, the answer seems to be unanimously that transfers do well at OCI. Most transfers do just as well if not better. However, if you had a borderline GPA (like top 15%-20% at a T2 or top 10% at a T4) and you transferred, then you might have slightly worse luck.</p>

<p>Employers look at your 1L GPA, so my guess is that having a better school on your resume can only increase your chances.</p>

<p>By the way, most interviewers will ask you why you transfer. If it is a geographical preference, the answer is easy. Feel free to tell them the truth, though my guess is that most interviewers will understand if you tell them that it is a business decision. Law school is an investment after all.
