chances to transfer below 3.0

<p>Well, it depends on where you’re tagging. To be considered for TAG for UCSD (as an example), you have to have a gpa of 3.5 by the end of Fall 2011 - meaning, you can use fall semester grades to bump up your gpa if it’s a little below (say, from a 3.4 to a 3.5 - 2.9 to 3.5 is obviously a long shot unless you’re repeating multiple courses to go from a D to an A). You can file and submit a TAG application even if your GPA is below their cutoff, FYI - I don’t know why people are saying you can’t. If your GPA isn’t above the cutoff by the Academic Update (Jan/Feb 2012 for this application cycle), then your TAG app will be discarded and you’ll be treated as a normal applicant. This is straight from an adcom. If the OP can get his GPA to 3.2 or whatever by the END of Fall 2011, then he can TAG for UCSB (granted that all other requirements are met). Stop discouraging him. OP, work on getting that GPA up - if you can manage to get it up to a 3.2, then you’ve got it good.</p>
