The middle SAT range for students that were admitted this fall was 1200-1400 (CR+M). The average GPAs was 3.94 in 2011.

It is neither true that Pitt only considers SATs or that you are guaranteed to get in with your existing profile. Your GPA is on the low side and your CR+M are on the low end of the middle range so it doesn’t necessarily compensate throughly for the lowish GPA. Now, that doesn’t mean you that are not going to get in, but the request for your grades likely means they’re going to keep an eye on your progress.

Pitt weighs the rigor of your high school curriculum, and your performance in it, in addition to SAT and ACTs, and other factors, particularly for borderline admission decisions and for scholarship decisions. Both high school academic performance and standardized tests are important. So don’t give up, but keep plugging away. Just because they asked for your grades doesn’t mean that you are not going to get in. Just don’t slack off in school the rest of the way.
