<p>Well I’m sure as a Lakeview grad you know that Harper is like the disabled ■■■■■■■ step-child of Lakeview. We don’t send a great number of people to 4-year colleges, most of them go to KCC or not at all, and those that do go to places like Central and Western.</p>
<p>Also, neither my father, mother, or step-father earned more than a H.S. diploma. That will help, right?</p>
<p>i think that portion is slightly overrated. it helps, but you still have to be well-qualified. they don’t accept below-avg. candidates ONLY bc their parents never went to college.</p>
<p>I can tell that you’re really worried about this. The best thing you can do right now is relax. It’s still way too early in the application season to worry. (I’ll admit. I was guilty of this as well when I was applying to universities, and I regret it now because I could have enjoyed more of my senior year of high school. Worrying is not worth it.)</p>
<p>Work really hard in your classes this fall, and show the admissions officers your strengths in your application. That’s really all you can do. You have a good shot as it is.</p>
