<p>I posted in the other thread you had, so I won’t repeat that stuff. FYI, as someone interested in athletics and tennis, you should know that Pitt does not have a varsity men’s tennis team, although they do have a women’s varsity team. There is a [club</a> men’s tennis team](<a href=“SORC | Student Affairs”>SORC | Student Affairs) if you are interested in continuing to play some. Also, directly on campus, there are no outdoor courts, you have to go over to the adjacent campus of Carnegie Mellon or to the courts in adjacent Schenley Park (these are all within a mile radius of the heart of Pitt’s campus…which btw, is pretty pretty compact and urban, more so the UW which you may be familiar with).</p>
<p>With all of that said, Pitt itself has a great athletics program with football and men’s basketball typically in the top 20 every year, and Pitt is typically ranked among the top combination of football/basketball programs in the country ([5th</a> best combination in this year’s CBSSports Flourishing Five](<a href=“http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/story/13660952/top-footballbasketball-schools-resurgent-pitt-football-doing-its-part?tag=coverlist_active;coverlist_photo]5th”>http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/story/13660952/top-footballbasketball-schools-resurgent-pitt-football-doing-its-part?tag=coverlist_active;coverlist_photo) and [5th</a> in Hoops and Helmets](<a href=“http://cfn.scout.com/2/954366.html]5th”>http://cfn.scout.com/2/954366.html)).</p>
<p>And just to touch on the facilities again, Pitt’s [Center</a> for Sports Medicine](<a href=“UPMC Sports Medicine | Pittsburgh, PA”>UPMC Sports Medicine | Pittsburgh, PA) at the [University</a> of Pittsburgh Medical Center Sports Performance Complex](<a href=“http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UPMC_Sports_Performance_Complex]University”>UPMC Rooney Sports Complex - Wikipedia) is seriously perhaps the best in the country, and it is a facility, unique in the nation, in that it is shared by both the Pitt football team/athletic department and and a pro-team as it also serves as the primary headquarters and training facility of the Pittsburgh Steelers. UPMC is also designing a new hockey complex for the Pittsburgh Penguins (although the area where they want to put it is under dispute from preservationists). Pitt also has perhaps the nicest on-campus [basketball</a> arenas](<a href=“http://web-smg.athletics.pitt.edu/]basketball”>http://web-smg.athletics.pitt.edu/) in the east, and is finishing the construction (will be done this spring) of [new</a> facilities](<a href=“http://www.pittsburghpanthers.com/facilities/pitt-facilities-olympic-sports-complex.html]new”>http://www.pittsburghpanthers.com/facilities/pitt-facilities-olympic-sports-complex.html) for baseball, soccer and softball. I’m not just spouting hyperbole, either, google around for yourself and see.</p>
