NC just went to a 10 point scale 4 years ago- before it was 7. We report number grade not letter, so it won’t necessarily help when colleges recalculate GPA. We did find that when my D18 went from 7 point to 10 point, the teachers became harder graders.

The proposed bill addresses ‘grades’ for school performance – i.e., are they successful or not. This has nothing to do with grading scale for students which is a 10 point scale and is not changing.
It was sloppy reporting that got picked up and went viral.
