Chapman Spring 2012 Transfer

Sugarsol, I submitted my document and app 10/17 and they just finished processing my work 11/17…honestly took forever and was a little bit of a nightmare. Crossing my fingers that i’ll get in! My boyfriend heard back after 2 weeks of his paperwork being processed so i hope i’ll here back from them before december!

disclaimer: not going to Chapman because of my boyfriend, but for my own academic goals :)

RonPaul,
OMG I applied for the exact same schools too! I already got accepted by Pepperdine, and they required me to pay deposit by 12/1, so that’s why I need to know Chapman and LMU before that cuz they’re my preferences especially Chapman.

Cityofchic,
They completed by file on 11/04 not 11/14 I typed it wrong |o|.
So I really hope they will make the decision before 12/1. I need to call them now!
Which major are you applying?
Yeah my bf is at USC but their film school is too hard to get in, and Chapman isn’t any worse
Hope we both can get in!!
Keep me updated.

Let me just say, Chapman is verrryyy slow when it comes to processing applications.

Hans-
Indeed. I think usually other schools send out decision after 2 weeks for spring transfers

Sugarsol,
I hope your boyfriend gets in! I just checked my WebAdvisor yesterday and it sent decision mailed…dundundun! I will be sure to keep EVERYONE posted :)

Sugarsol,
Also i applied for communications major  hopefully will minor in television or something within the dodge school. possibly double major depending on the load and knowing that dodge is a little bit of a challenge to get into…we shall see! what major did you apply for?

cityofchic-
I applied for the creative producing major within Dodge
Nah my bf is already in USC and he won’t transfer to anywhere |o|
My status is still “decision pending”…I guess it’s because dodge’s got more applicants
anyway I sent the transfer coordinator email to request a decision before 12/1
Hope you get in!
:)

RonPaul-
I don’t know anything about financial, sry:(
I’m international student so I’m not eligible to get any financial aids except limited scholarships

RonPaulMustWin

Chapman will consider your financial situation and can turn you down if you apply for need based aid, the university is officially NOT need-blind. They practically never cover 100% need unless you get merit based full ride. Financial aid for transfer students is usually worse that for freshmen. So unless you have some third party scholarships up to 20,000 per year you most likely will not be able to afford this school.

Also, it is a state??? law now that all the universities have to have a net cost calculator on their websites to show prospective students what to expect to pay.

Here is Chapman’s calculator [Chapman University - Financial Aid - Undergrads](<a href=“Financial Aid | Chapman University”>Financial Aid | Chapman University)

I played with different numbers the last several weeks just to see how it works and noticed that for 0000 EFC not covered expenses went up.

I am sorry, but you’d better stay at CSU.

hi all,
my chapman web advisor just changed from “decision pending” to “Pending-more information”. Did anyone encounter this before?

Sugarsol, You might want to contact admissions directly. Sounds like they may be missing some paperwork.

i got my acceptance letter yesterday  and i got in :)

Congratulations cityofchic!

They told me they’ve made the decision and they would like to see my current grades. Then they would give me the official decision.

Hopefully it’s a good thing (they said they want to know how I’m doing, I guess because I’m at first semester of college and they want to know a little bit more about me.)

What do you think?

congrats cityofchic. are you planning to do housing? i’ve heard space is limited for transfer students during the spring but idk.

sugarsol are you a spring transfer? IMO it sounds if you have good grades (ie 3.6ish+) then they probably admit you. :)

Yes I’m a spring transfer.
Well I got two As and one probably B so far, and I’m not doing that well on one science course. (though the average for that class is C for now)
I’m an international student IDK if they have different policies.
And my frd told me they won’t look much into ur college grades if you’re transferring <30units. But IDK, it’s hard to say for the admissions. They are the ones who decide anyway.

haha yeah, im planning to have 30 and transfer next spring for dodge. whats your major? and if they consider Extra curriculars a big factor then im kinda scrwwed lol.

oh just curious but what is race?

I’m applying for Creative Producing within Dodge.
I hope they consider more on my dodge essays and resume; I’ve done plenty of things and I think I did a good job on essays.
What do you mean by “what is race?” Are u asking me?
I’m Asian :)

oh cool im asian too lol. a relief to see an asian lol not trying to sound racist or anything but yeah.

Thanks sugarsol and andr3w!
andr3w: yes i am living on campus. I’m planning on applying to glass because either that or morlan are designated for transfer students (mostly). Luckily I live somewhat close to the campus so I’m just going to drop off my paperwork to them so I would be able to get in my house app by the deadline :).
sugarsol: yeah I think that is what they are looking for! Since it would be a little hard just going off of high school records. That’s awesome that you’re going for Dodge. I was initially going to go for Dodge but I heard it’s a little tricky to get into. Though hopefully I’ll be double majoring so we shall see :)

Just got the bad news that I’m rejected by LMU’s film school :frowning:
Don’t know why…I got in the same level film schools before so I wrote them a email ask for the reasons.
Chapman, pleassssse get me in. Or I’m off to Pepperdine
