That’s awesome! Congratulations to everyone who got in! :)

congrats sugarsol! see that C didn’t matter :)

|o| thx Andr3w!
Wat major in Dodge u gonna apply? Best Luck!

@collegefoodie
What r u planning for housing? I kinda want to live off campus, but somewhere near. Cuz the dorms look like a little bit expensive. And from my college experience so far off campus is better (maybe just because here in texas everyone’s live off campus)

im going for TV and broadcasting, though i dont like the emphasis on broadcasting. also i think they focus more on narrative tv? which i dont like. i want to be scripted.

and having hard time getting my classes at cc, so much wait list right now it’s not even funny :(

Are u in college right now?
Hope everything’s gonna work out for you.
You’ll be fine!!

yeah im a freshman right now in second semester. hope you’re right.

Hey sugarsol what were your highschool grades? How many credits do you have currently? Im just curious because I have similar grades as you do.
Congrats on getting admitted!!

@celebrated
My high school doesn’t have GPA but I have 90.86/100 as weighted.
I have 12 credits (4 classes) currently at the first semester in college.
I just found out a very old email that the Dodge admission people wrote to me:
“our overall transfer admit rate to Dodge was 16% last year, and the average transfer GPA was 3.56.”
Good luck! Are you a spring transfer this year? What major u r applying?

I did horribly in high school! About 2.8. Im actually attending a four year university right now. After freshman year Im going to attend a community college and hopefully enter their Honors Program that guarantees admission to Chapman! Hopefully it goes well.
Im planning to major in Digital Arts
?

Good luck!
I’m going for the Creative Producing

@sugarsol when you apply did you only do the things it said on the Dodge website or do you have to do more than that? i know they follow the common app but did you only have to creative essay, major essay, 1 letter of recommendation, and the creative resume?

@andr3w
yes if you are applying for their creative producing or whatever other in Dodge you have to do the Dodge requirements including those essays (depending on which major u’re applying). The film admission and the general admission committee make separate decisions. It’s possible u’re admitted by Chapman but not Dodge; but u have to be accepted by Chapman General Admission first to be considered for Dodge Admission.
Hope my explanation makes sense.

Oh also just follow those said on website. Don’t send them ANY EXTRA thing. They won’t look at it. Remember follow those instructions strictly; these materials are enough for them to make a reasonable decision.
P.S, when I emailed them what they looked for transfer applicants, they told me: we want to see how well you can tell a story. U should have both storytelling abilities and high academic profile cuz admission for transfers is extremely competitive.

i pmed you sugarsol

andr3w I replied to u.
PM ur email to me so I can write more specifically

“Tell a story”

Thats odd because when I applied the prompt was pretty much ‘why do you want to go to Chapman’.

I guess you could form a story somehow that relates to that.

Hans,
I think for CommonApp essay u basically need to articulate why you want to transfer and why you choose Chapman.
But yeah you’re right for Dodge you should show your passion towards films and how your essay reflets your storytelling abilities. By that means you need to make your dodge essays more like stories, not only words that “show” but not “tell”

Won’t know whether I’m in or not until they get this semesters grades.

I hope there will be room left lol

They told you they need to look at your final grades to decide?
ANYWAY Best luck!

Yes, thats what they told me.

Way to make me even more nervous during finals!
