<p>Did you check out (small) colleges in Arkansas? And state schools usually give the best aid to their own students.</p>
<p>For Southern LACs with good merit aid, check out Rhodes, Wofford, Stetson, and Birminghman-Southern. Univ of Richmond, Sewanee, Hendrix, Southwestern, Trinity (TX), and Centre might be worth a look. </p>
<p>For Birmingham-Southern, you would automatically receive at least $27K/yr in merit aid: <a href=“Types of Aid Available”>http://www.bsc.edu/admission/scholarships.cfm</a>. At Stetson, you would likely receive about $33K/year in merit aid. This puts the cost for tuition, fees, and room/board at these two colleges at about 16-18K for your first year.</p>
<p>It is easy to apply to these LACs via the Common Application.</p>
<p>I don’t know is if these LACs have your intended major(s).</p>
Thanks, @mommdc . I’ve looked at all of the state colleges(most fully funded), but I dislike the area and would like to explore new places in college.
@dadof1 , those colleges seem nice, but at that price tag, I (think I) could go somewhere very nice(e.g. GA Tech or places similar.). The LACs seem nice, but I’d be looking for at least full tuition at 'em. Thanks for the suggestions tho! Stetson and BSC seems very nice.
Are you a senior? Did you apply anywhere at all? If not,

@OspreyCV22 Ive already applied to a few safeties and such(local state schools and Troy), but I am looking for more options.
You need to get a number from your parents - and make them understand that you can’t go to college than cheaper it’d cost them to keep you at home… Do they know how much colleges costs?
For $35,000, you couldn’t attend Georgia Tech, for example.
If you want a smaller college, Hendrix is an obvious college to apply to for both Cs and creative writing.
If you’re willing to look at out of state colleges, look at Eckerd or Knox for writing, but I don’t know what they’re worth for CS. Same thing, but opposite, for UMN-Morris and South Dakota ST.
