Checked Bags question

<p>we just got back from NYC</p>

<p>we had 4 bags- one was 58 pounds, the others were under 50, totally 198 lbs</p>

<p>we were told we could pay 25per bag overweight, or shift stuff around, well we had time, so we spent 20 minutes shifting things, reweighing bags- got each bag to</p>

48.5
49 and
49.5 pounds</p>

<p>we were impressed with ourselves</p>

<p>then going through secruity, my Ds rolled up rollingstone magazine set off security bells- while my H got through with two pairs of pointy stilletos that could have done some real damage</p>

<p>Wastn’t going to get involved on this thread- I weigh all bags a couple times before leaving the house; carry packing tape, if I am using a box as luggage, etc.</p>

<p>But I did a doubletake and got a laugh on this one:
“while my H got through with two pairs of pointy stilletos”
Was Dad carrying them for daughter, or is there an interesting fashion statement going on?</p>
