<p>I live in Chemical Free housing in Hunter Hall, Mountainview. Should you choose to sign up for chem-free housing, you will be held accountable for substances both ON and OFF campus. As Qtjan5 mentioned, an RA has the authority to write you up for any breach in your housing contract. You would not be held accountable for the actions of your roommates or suitemates, although I would highly advise that you ensure they not do anything stupid that has the possibility of getting you involved.</p>

<p>I am not sure how it works in every community, but there is only one chem-free floor in Mountainview. It’s the 4th (highest) floor in Hunter. </p>

<p>Although I can say that the chem-free floor in Hunter isn’t absolutely chem-free, it is definitely FAR less involved with frat parties, beer pong; etc. This also means that there are people to hang out with on the weekends, and we’re the only floor that’s awake by 10AM on a Saturday. ;)</p>

Chemical-free housing is defined as a living environment where all residents and their guests agree to keep their living area free from substances at all times. Substances are defined to include alcohol; cigarettes, other tobacco products, and other smoking materials; and all illicit drugs. If you are interested in living in chemical-free housing, you should complete the Chemical-free Housing Application and Agreement and return it along with your completed Housing Preference Form.
