<p>That’s actually a very interesting hypothesis. Of course, not all ED applicants withdraw their apps immediately, though…</p>
<p>Even if I did get accepted ED to a school, I probably wouldn’t want to withdraw my EA app to uchicago, just to see if I got accepted. I’m sure many others on CC have the same mindset - we all want to know how many top schools we can get accepted to.</p>
<p>^If I had gotten accepted to Columbia ED, I’d have done likewise but at the same time, I acknowledge that wouldn’t really be the nicest thing to do.</p>
