Chicago/ NYC Unified Auditions~ Musical Theatre

You audition in your senior year for admission to college programs. Juniors can audition at SETC (usually held in March) and I think some other Thespian auditions around the country but these are going to be primarily for recruitment and information only, generally not for admission in the Junior year. Rising Seniors can audition at the International Thespian Conference in June and admissions can result from those auditions.

Some Juniors do attend Unifieds “just to walk around” and I think sometimes summer programs hold auditions at Unifieds for underclasspeople.

You may want to read, “I Got In” by Mary Anna Dennard. This gives a great overview of the college audition process. There are other books on auditioning for college as well.
