Woah. There is a difference between school spirit and happiness. Happiness is the fact that you are ecstatic to go there. Meaning something like you placed all your bets on Chicago and then got accepted, so you held a huge celebration that you got in.

School spirit on the other hand is like you “show off” to everyone else that you got accepted. And that you also attend the school games i.e. football, baseball, softball, etc also and, like Cornell, paint your faces red and yell at the top of your lungs.

I am proud that I did get into Chicago. However, books say that it is not really known for its school spirit. Meaning, you really do not find people who wear the University of Chicago sweaters or yell it at the top of their lungs in the city or such.

*No one at my school even wore a Chicago sweater. I love the fact that The University of Chicago is a very good school and yet, not too many people really and truely know about it and its true intelligence.

Oh and about this:

Themistocles, Thucydides, The Peloponnesian Wars
X-squared, Y-squared, H2SO4
Who for, what for,
Who the hell are we cheering for?
Goooooo Maroons!

Lol. I love it. :)

Go Chicago!
