Chick Flicks for Guys, and Macho Films for Girls

Hey thanks, this post was great! I’m one of those people who goes into a video store and wanders around, never remembering which movie I promised myself I’d remember to rent next time! I’m also embarrased to say I have rented the same one more than once (my record is 3 times- and did THAT more than once!), because I can’t remember that we’d seen it already (often because I fall asleep halfway through…geez I sound like a ball of fire!)

So I’ll write all of these titles down for the next trip to Blockbusters.
BTW, my dd loves anything Alfred Hitchcock (favorite is The Birds),
and my son loves anything Adam Sandler- think he can get an essay for Harvard out of that for admission to the class of 2013?

bonnie and clyde for guys

the graduate for older teens

and my D says that all adults should watch napolean dynomite

don’t forget about “three days of the condor” – robert redford, faye dunnaway

good flick for either.

The Last Starfighter
October Sky
Remember the Titans
Master and Commander

Bought them for the boys but DDs watch them even more!!

Of course Pirates of the Carribean.
Happy Gilmore and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Groundhog Day.

And we own the star trek movies, new and old.

Kat

Everyone definitely SHOULD watch Napoleon Dynamite.

I mean, whattaya think?

What the heck are you even talking about?! Gosh!!!

ummmmmm…

2001
the Original Planet of the Apes

girls and guys should see Deliverance

Yes, you just mentioned 2001, A Space Odyssey. I would also add Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Kids need to see these orginials, like Planet of fhe Apes too, so they know and understand where so many references come from in movies, etc. today.

sahara – over the top action adventure. good sound track too.

GQ just did an article on male chick flicks, it was pretty good, stuff like:

The Shawshank Redemption
Good Will Hunting
Old Yeller
The Longest Yard
and last but not least…
The Transformers :-D

I personally didn’t think Napoleon Dynamite was that great. I thought the moview tried to hard to fit that mold.
