Did a 5 hour road trip with D this weekend and listened to lots of Christmas music.
Winning song: Fairytale of New York by the Pogues

Father Christmas, by the Kinks. Guitar rock mixed with holiday cheer.

If you’re looking for something more mellow, “The Rebel Jesus” by Jackson Browne.

^“Rebel Jesus” Jackson Browne’s performance was first on the “The Bells of Dublin” --a Chieftan’s GREAT compilation Christmas CD----I forgot about that one! Thanks!

^Agreed. Better than his solo version.

I just was reminded of a lovely little Christmas song called “All That I Want” by the Weepies. Wonderful lyric, e.g.: “Above the rooftops/The full moon dips its golden spoon/I wait on clip-clops, deer might fly/Why not? I met you.”

+1 for “Father Christmas,” Son of Opie. A true classic.

I am also oddly fascinated with “A Twisted Christmas”, Twisted Sister’s heavy metal Christmas Album.

“We’re Not Gonna Take It” is the exact same chord progression as “O Come All Ye Faithful”
