We sure have a collection of beautiful Christmas trees!

I suppose it’s fairly coordinated although it’s a blend of my 2 very different ornament collections. Maybe 20 years ago I got into blown glass ornaments and like the color they bring to the tree. But my big collection is sterling silver ornaments, all tied on with red ribbons. It’s funny how the tree comes out different every year even though I’m using the same ornaments. Some years I spend a lot of time placing each one and then there are years like this one that I put them up as fast as I can.

I think we might have the same angel? Or do they all look the same? Mines from 1994 though. Maybe from Lowe’s if my memory is right…

Got that for the grands a couple years ago. Big hit!

Hodgepodge with a slight lean and a train.’

The snow was supposed to be a blanket that went under the train but clearly Amazon and I were not on the same page.

Our tree is primarily decorated with ornaments collected on our vacations, whether it’s a weekend away or longer. I love remembering how we chose each ornament.

The first vacation ornament was a cheat and purchased after I saw it and thought “oh, that reminds me of…” But it started our tradition of collecting. Some places we visited had slim pickings and we settled for something pretty ugly. (Looking at you, Puerto Rico.) But we affectionately give it a good spot on the tree. Some ornaments fall out of favor and get moved towards the back of the tree, along with the ridiculous Donald and Daisy in a Gondola ornament, given to the kids by granny.

Most of my ornaments are from when the kids were very little. Some they made in preschool (the ones with the photos) and I just can’t bring my self to throw them away.

Haha yes! Some places surprisingly don’t have a lot to choose from. We had trouble in Switzerland! I also collect postcards which I put up at work. Magnets too that used to be on the fridge, then I moved them to my filing cabinets at work. But now more are cropping up on our new fridge lol. And some places, just not a lot of choices.

I’m not home to take a pic now, but our fresh (real) tree is a hodgepodge of ornaments and dons colored lights - the lights of choice from my kids little and grown - and honestly me! I have plenty of other lights that are just the warm white - on the mantel, fairy lights on some large plants, etc. - the colored works for us!

I was so thrilled this year to get a new tree topper. For years we had an angel that was a wedding gift I think (we were married close to Thanksgiving) - to be honest, I didn’t love the old tyme vibe anymore. Then I tried a gold star that just looked blah to me and seemed to have a hard time standing straight (and getting the top stem to fit it right).

I bought this shimmery, sparkly a little more streamlined and modern one that I love!!! It has a big giant clear CLIP which is how it attaches to the top of the tree - very effective. It looks much better lit up then the pics can give credit for - and it’s a nice size. 14in 70lit Twinkling Starburst Spikes Christmas Tree Topper - Wondershop™ : Target

I’m bucking the trend I guess - we used to do a hodgepodge tree when the kids were little with tons of their ornaments and colorful lights, but now we pick a color scheme and go with it - this year is gold and white, last year was red and white, the year before was jewel tones - kind of fun to use what we have and add a few new colors/ornaments every year.

We do the hodgepodge and colored lights and our tree always looks great. I thought about doing color coordinated but then we’d have to buy all new ornaments (we already have a ton of ornaments to begin with) and I personally don’t need the tree to look Pinterest perfect…

I have three of those on our tree. Also blue with the exact same patterned tag attached. From 2006. My kids are now 25 and almost 23 (x2).
