The area considered “Newport News VA” is very large geographically. Runs from the MMBT to Fort Eustis. You can drive on 664/64 for 20 minutes or more at 70mph and still be running along side Newport News.
Crime in the city tends to be in the SE/East End area (west of 64, south of Mercury) and Denbigh. Trust me when I say you could do 4 years or more at CNU and not go anywhere near those areas.
