Cicadas

greenwitch, I’ve never visited the shop, just bought the cloths online. If I’m ever in that area, I’d love to go.

As for the cicadas, I remember the last big brood, but it wasn’t too bad here. Insects don’t bother me, so I’m not losing any sleep over the prospect.

I think I was wrong about them not coming to my area. Looks like my daughter will spend a lot of time inside this summer.

this Drexel profession is suggesting they will be a delicacy! (going to cross post this to “Food on a Stick”)

Swarmaggedon is starting in DC. [They’re here: Cicadas are emerging!](http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capital-weather-gang/wp/2013/05/13/theyre-here-cicadas-are-emerging/) I remember several swarms over the past 28 years. In 2004 my inlaws were visiting from another state. My BIL was wearing a green Hawaiian leaf print shirt & the cicadas kept swarming him because they thought he was a shrub. I also remember a lot of damage to young saplings & plants. The older neighborhoods are affected the worst because the soil has not been disturbed by new construction. I’m am so NOT looking forward to this.
