Claremont College Transportation?

I accidentally left my bike here over the break (with a U-lock) and it didn’t get stolen, so I wouldn’t be too worried about it. It wasn’t a cheap bike when I bought it 6 years ago, and it had detachable bags on the sides that weren’t stolen either. That said, I have heard of people losing their bikes even with U-locks, though I wonder if they had just attached the lock wrong and it fell off or something…(it happens, the ones from DOS will look like they are locked if you do them backwards, but if you pull on them they come right apart).

I’ve seen plenty of people longboard to the other campuses, so that’s still an option, though you need to be somewhat confident in your skills (I just got my board, and I’m still afraid to even cross Mudd campus). It really is only a 10 minute walk to most places on Pomona though, so you don’t really desperately need extra means of transportation.

As for off-campus, you can use a bike within Claremont and Upland (If the unicyclists can ride 8 miles to Donut Man, you can bike 2 miles to Vons or In & Out) and use public transportation to go any further until second semester when you feel comfortable stealing (otherwise known as politely asking for) your friend’s cars :P
