<p>Back in my day (yes, I’m that old), 10 hours a week was just the expected time spent on one assignment in one class (e.g., Basic Algebra, which, despite the name, is really baby ring and group theory, not just playing around with symbolic manipulation (HS algebra)). Multiply this by 4 to 5 classes (load may vary, depending on which course you pick, Moons for goons had no homework at all), and that’s what your first semester might be like. Eventually you’ll realize that many assignments are a big waste of time too (like in CS 202). Procrastination and socializing are much more fun…</p>
