Clark Scholars 2011!

When I applied, I had no AP’s and only sent in one SAT Subject Test.

how many of u guys are seniors? are seniors picked over juniors???

For including copies of all exams, Ms. Durham said that it is fine to just print off your unofficial score report from the College Board website for the SAT and include it in your application. Good luck to everyone. I’m also applying and I’m sending everything this weekend. I’m also applying to the American Cancer Society Illinois Summer Research Program, QuarkNet summer research at FermiLab, etc.

My research interests that i wrote about are VERY narrow. Is that a bad thing or will they just try to match me with someone in my general overall field like “physics”.

@Apoc314

I’m applying to the American Cancer Society one too!!! Do you live in IL?? Fermilab is in IL too…

Are they only for IL students?

you mean the american cancer society one and the fermilab one??? i’m not sure about the fermilab, but for the american cancer society one, you don’t have to. however, they don’t offer room or board so you’d have to find a place to stay for like 8 weeks. they do give you like $2000.

I’m not sure, NspiredOne. I wrote about my fields and some specific parts, but I made sure to let them know I’d be happy with the overall field, not just the specific part.

I do live in Illinois as well, and I have finally finished my Clark application, the ACS one, and the Fermilab one. I’m mailing them out tomorrow and I’m excited to be done and to try to become a 2011 Clarkie. :)

Narrow is good, NspiredOne.

All right - my application’s in the mail, so…out of my hands now :slight_smile: Shall we start a list of CC-ers who applied, and their prospective field(s) of research?

hey guys I’m kind of confused.
what kinds of projects are available for those who choose an area of interest outside the sciences? for example, i know if i choose biochemistry, I will be working in a lab, but if I choose to research history, what kind of stuff would I be doing?

and @bks:
They have professors for a lot of different fields. Just go to the website and check it out. And (someone correct me if I’m wrong), if you do history, I’m assuming you would look at primary/secondary sources, analyze them, form a conclusion, etc.
