Class Grade V. AP score

2009: AP US Gov- A both semesters, 4

2010: APUSH- A semester 1, A+ semester 2, 4

2011: Calc AB- A- 1st semester, A 2nd semester, 5
English Lit- A- 1st semester, A 2nd semester, 3 (sad…)
Spanish Lang- A both semesters, 2 (yeah…bad teacher, easy class, but bad for AP test)
Psych- self study so no grade, 5
Euro- B- both semesters, 5 (no one ever has gotten an A at our school; everyone gets B or below- REALLY tough teacher but knows his stuff well too, people do well on AP test, teacher has 97% or so pass rate on AP Euro test)

My school:
A+ = 99-100%
A = 95-98
A- = 93-94
B+ = 91-92
B = 87-90
B- = 85-86
and so on

Gov a/a/a 5
Bio b/b/b+ 3
Lang B-/C+/C+ 4

We are on tris

Chinese: C, score 3
English Lang: B+, score 5
Art History: C first semester, A second, score 5
APUSH: B, score 5
AP Bio: First semester A, second semester B, score 5

I demand a grade change for everything, except maybe Chinese.

Past years:

Biology: A / A / 5
Calculus BC: A / A / 5
English Lang: A- / A- / 5
European History: A / A / 5
US History: B- / A- / 5

Calc and APUSH I learned most of the material from the teachers. Bio and Euro, I learned most of the material from quizzes and tests. And Lang Comp… was just the most BS class I’ve ever taken. I was extremely surprised to have gotten a 5.

This year:

English Lit: A- / B+ / ? - The best English teacher I’ve ever had. She really knew her stuff.

There are two teachers at our school who get AP scores that correlate with grades. CalcBC and Chem. Pretty sad.

For s:

Euro B/3 (as sophomore)
USH B/4
Lit B/5
Bio A/5

AP Physics C: 91/4
AP Lang: 81/5
AP US 96/5
Calc BC 99/5
AP Euro 95/5

English Lang 94A / 4

Apush

97 - 4

86% without all of the extra credit from my class LMAO

Bio: F/F/4
Stats: A/D/5
APUSH: B+/B/4

@Kumquat- that is a big difference between AP versus class grade!!!

Stat - A/5
Spanish - B/3 (non-native)
Bio - B/5
Calc BC - B/3bc,4ab (LOL I’m bad at math)
Euro - A/5
Env. Sci - A/4
Human Geo - self study/5
Macroecon - self study/5

AP Chem: 93% and a 3
APUSH: 91% and a 5
AP Lang: 96% and a 4

Now that I look at those numbers, the correlation seems all weird and lopsided…oh well, the theory stands if you see the big picture :)

For my son:

AP Euro - C+ class grade (did not write one note from the book all year and did not hand in research papers/DBQ’s 2nd or 3rd quarters). AP test - 5, SAT II (World History) - 750, 97 - Global Regents

APUSH - D class grade (again, no class notes and no papers 1st - 3rd quarters). No AP grade yet, but his teacher predicted a 5, 770 US History SAT II and 99 USH Regents.

In neither year, did he get a test grade below 85.

Can anyone understand why I am so sad about this child and his college prospects?

Chem- A/5
Calc BC- A/5
Gov- A/4
German- A/4
Eco- A/4
US- B/3
World- B/3

AP English Literature: 94 / 3
AP Biology: 97 / 4
AP Calculus: 100 / 1

AP Physics B - 95 / 5
AP US History - 90 / 5
AP English Language - 94 / 5

AP biology- 96/5

Same scores as LemonCat:

AP US History: 91/93/5! OMG I’m so happy! Thanks to my teacher’s motivation :)

AP English Language and Composition: 89/89/4

AP Chemistry: 93/89(rounded up to an A-)/3

I predicted all of these scores and I’m quite satisfied with them! only reporting APUSH and APEngLang to top 25’s because they are the only ones that match my grade in the class. AP World and AP Chem are 3’s with A’s in the classes.

Chem teacher dumbed down the class because she thought students from CP Chem the year before couldn’t handle AP -_- if I had a better teacher, I could’ve pulled off a 5… Especially if I studied better :P
