<p>Interesting that these number do not quite match what was initially reported in the Chicago Maroon. <a href=“http://maroon.uchicago.edu/news/articles/2006/05/19/admissions_picks_sel.php[/url]”>http://maroon.uchicago.edu/news/articles/2006/05/19/admissions_picks_sel.php&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

<p>It is a little bit of a relief that the admit rate did not drop as much as indicated earlier. I think it gives the admissions folks a lot more leeway if the admit rate is a bit higher, and makes for a better overall class in the long run. It says something about U of C that is as highly regarded as it is with a 38% admit rate.</p>
