Waitlisted. Garrrr! Does GTown accept people off the waitlist?

I got waitlisted too. Didnt you get that insert, Sean? It shows the breakdown of waitlist people that get in. Basically if you applied anywhere but nursing you have 0 chance at gettin in off the waitlist.

I was almost certain that it was coming in today, but the mail came and nothing from Georgetown! Ugh!

Was the waiting list insert blue?

I believe it was yellow, actually.

it’s okay though, it’s for the best honestly, I probably wouldn’t have even been able to til next year go due to medical problems. Anyways, my new plan is to go apply to a Congress Internship, that has housing, and get permission to take a class at Georgetown at night. I don’t give up on my dreams, not ever. After all, I have an A.S at 18, I don’t need to rush that much.

Waitlisted–
I WILL get in off that list. Anyone know if it would help to get off the waitlist by trying to get recruited for diving post-fact?

General Comments/Congratulations/etc:

waitlisted … anyone have any ideas as to how many students have been offered admission from that waitlist in the past for georgetown COLLEGE?
thanks

i hear that “bothering” the school (calling a lot, checking the ‘status’ of your application) can help because everytime you call they make a mark on your file…it shows interest…and hey it may help.

Accepted (SFS)

Stats
SAT I: 2170 (650M, 750V, 770W)
SAT II: Lit 790, US Hist 710, Math II 640
ACT: 30 (I have no idea if I sent this to them or not)
GPA: 4.0 UW, 4.8 W (ranked first in class)
Other exciting things: National Merit Finalist, sister just graduated from Georgetown and is probably going their law school in the fall, I live at dance and theatre rehearsals and never sleep and when I’m not not sleeping I’m at my part-time job… also, I write good. ;-)

Oh, and my counselor recommendation was THE most amazing thing you will ever read in your life. Not amazing in a good way… amazing in a “when admissions officers look at it they think ‘What kind of crack is this counselor on?! We HAVE to let this girl in now, poor thing’” way. It was a page-long extended metaphor comparing me to a yacht. I strongly believe that this is why I got into five and a half schools.

to those waitlisted–
what school at gtown did you apply to?
are you going to stay on the waitlist or concentrate on other schools you have been accepted to instead?

has anyone heard from McDonough yet?!?!

anyone hear from nhs yet

I’m staying on the waitlist, but I’m basically just gonna forget about it. The acceptance rate off the waitlist is practically nill.
