<p>Good luck to everyone applying at St. Olaf!</p>
<p>My son is a freshman, and loves it! We are all the way from the Pacific NW to find St. Olaf: great academics, friendly students, an open rather than hostile attitude to faith (but not mandated faith, either), personal interest from profs, and a campus culture which is not booze-fuelled.</p>
<p>With one semester’s experience, we’re glad to hear back that the residence life at St. O is very active and friendly. My son can only come home for the long breaks, so we are very glad to learn from him that practially everyone stays on campus for the weeekends.</p>
<p>My son is not a musician, which seems to be just fine on campus. Also, he has a great attitude about the weather (remember a quarter inch of snow is a wonder here). It seems that no one treats the cold as a big deal, and the nonchalance is contagious. There is also a wonderful athletic center for for when it’s too cold to want to be outdoors.</p>
<p>We’re sold: I guess our whole family are Oles now!</p>
