Congratulations, collma.

Anyone: How long is a reasonable amount of time to give Olaf a definitive, “Yes, I want to remain on the St Olaf waitlist”?

They said in an envelope today to get back to them “as soon as possible” and, if the answer is “yes, I want to remain on the St Olaf waitlist”, then make sure to send in more supporting materials - such as grades, recommendations, and personal statements.

Since we already have given Olaf seventh semester grades, and they are probably not interested in 8th grade grades, we probably should drive seven hours in a driving blizzard AGAIN to see the BuntRock cafe - AND to GUSH about it; We can also ask the religious education teachers to write some more recommendations, in addition to the three, or was that four, who already sent recommendations. We bought one Tshirt already.

As F and M, Depauw and other colleges were stricken previously from the Colleges that Change Lives book for becoming TOO selective*, Olaf is thisclose to losing its everyman stripes. It seems to be that they are ‘a gunnin’ to break into the top 50 in the vaunted USNR rankings, which likes a higher portion of the class from the top 10 pct of HS, among other selective factors.
