Joecollegedad: Sounds like you are not too happy with St Olaf!

Having a D attending now as a Sophomore and just receiving notice that our HS senior has been accepted (lovely mustard envelope), there is some happy campers at our home.

St Olaf deservingly is getting more notice nationwide, but they still get close to 50% from Minnesota/Iowa/Wisc and from persons with Lutheran backgrounds. The competitive nature for all colleges is increasing, not just St Olaf. They are trying to cap their enrollment at 2800 down from the current 3000+, so the acceptance rate for EA might have been reduced. Ergo to your question, the waitlist might well be used if they fall under a 720 students accepting their offer. If, however, like the past two years, they get attendees above 740+, the chances are the waitlist will not be used.

BTW, wish we only had a 7 hour drive, it is over 1300 miles to St Olaf from our home in New Jersey. For us, it is well worth the trip(s).
