I am so sorry that your daughter was waitlisted. My daughter was waitlisted by 5 colleges (not St. Olaf) a few years back, and it is not a fun situation. I think it is especially tough for girls at liberal arts colleges.</p>
<p>Since St. Olaf already has your daughter’s 7th semester grades, I would suggest having her write a letter explaining exactly why she feels St. Olaf is the school for her, being very specific. If you have already sent 3-4 recommendations, that is probably enough unless you have someone who can offer a different perception than the ones already submitted. Also, you might want to ask what financial is available to students who are admitted from the waitlist…sometimes it is limited. </p>
<p>In the end, my daughter did not get off any of the waitlists, but she is VERY happy at the college she is now attending, and currently finishing her junior year. Things do tend to work out the way they are supposed to in the end.</p>
